Why use days instead of years?
Days make hidden milestones visible and avoid variable month lengths.
Count the full calendar days elapsed between your birth date and today. This gives a different perspective from the familiar age in years and months.
10,000 days is a little over 27 years, but the exact years-and-months equivalent depends on leap years and month lengths. The 10,000th calendar day itself can be calculated exactly from a birth date.
Days alive are useful for milestones that ordinary birthday ages hide: 5,000 days, 10,000 days or simply comparing two people whose birthdays fall in different parts of the year. It is also a clean input for week and cycle visualisations.
At date level, elapsed days can be counted exactly including leap days. Converting that date-only result into exact hours would require birth time and time zone, information the calculator deliberately does not pretend to know.

Use Exact Age or Date Difference when you need a custom end date.
If you are around 30 years old, a result near eleven thousand days is plausible: 30 × 365 is 10,950 before leap days are included. That rough mental calculation is useful only for spotting obviously impossible outputs; the calculator still uses actual elapsed calendar days.
The day view becomes more useful near milestones. Someone can be “27 years old” for an entire year, but only one date inside that year is the 10,000th day. That is information a whole-year age cannot show.
Days are exact at calendar-date level. Smaller time units are perspective estimates without an exact birth time.
The tool logic is treated as the reference for calculations. Worked examples are checked against the same method, external facts are sourced where relevant, and wording is reviewed so exact results, estimates and entertainment are not presented as the same thing.
