Reaction Test

Measure the delay between the visual GO signal and your click. False starts are kept separate so an early click cannot become a fake fast result.

Game logic

After Start, the page waits for a random delay, changes to GO and timestamps your click with the browser’s high-resolution timer.

Reading your score

Lower milliseconds are faster. Compare repeated attempts on the same device rather than treating one number as a universal human benchmark.

Worked example

A result of 240 ms means the browser received your click about 0.24 seconds after presenting the GO state.

Good to know

Display refresh rate, browser scheduling, touchscreen or mouse latency and device performance all add some measurement noise. This is a web mini-game, not laboratory equipment.

What your reaction-time score actually means

A browser reaction test is useful when you treat it as a repeatable personal measurement, not a medical verdict. The interesting part is not one heroic click — it is the pattern across several attempts on the same setup.

The measurement chain

Your score includes more than your nervous system. The display must present the GO state, the browser must paint it, your eyes detect the change, your brain selects a response, your hand moves, and the input device reports the click back to the browser.

Why one attempt is noisy

A lucky anticipation can produce an unusually fast score while distraction can produce a slow one. Five to ten clean attempts tell you much more than a single number. False starts should be excluded rather than rewarded.

Phone versus desktop

Touchscreens, mice, display refresh rates and browser scheduling differ. That means a score from a phone should not be compared too confidently with a score from a gaming monitor and mouse.

A better way to improve

Use the same device, posture and input method. Do a short warm-up, run a small set of attempts, rest briefly, then compare the median or typical cluster rather than obsessing over the fastest click.
